Joshua J. Edwards, Macksburg resident died at his home at the west edge of town, Monday morning, March 28th, at the age of 62 years. He had been in poor health for several years.

He was the son of William and Rebecca Edwards and was born in Cherokee county, September 16, 1886. He came to this county with his parents and was married to Bertha Platt of Macksburg, November 21, 1909. He always engaged in farming and had lived in Kansas and Missouri before going to Saskatchewan, Canada in 1921 and remained there until 1933 when he returned to this county. He joined the Baptist church in Canada, but transferred his membership to the Methodist church in Macksburg upon his return here.

He is survived by his wife and their five children, Mrs. Ed Porter of Macksburg, Forest, of Carnduff, Canada, Gail Edwards of Elkhart, Victor at home, and Mrs. Delayte Lauer of Creston. He also leaves tow brothers and a sister, Elmer and Albert Edwards of Harrisonville, Missouri, and Mrs. Mary Cochran of Des Moines, and three grandchildren.

The Rev. C. A. Calkins conducted his funeral services at the Macksburg Methodist church this afternoon at two o'clock and burial was made in the Moon cemetery near there.
