HARVEY MENDENHALL DIES IN CALIFORNIA

Harvey Mendenhall, oldest son of an old Winterset family, died recently in California where he was in the hotel business. Mrs. Samuel Koser and Mrs. Fred Hudson are his sisters.

Harvey was a printer and was foreman of The News until the year before its purchase from Major Palmer by Arthur Goshorn in 1888. He was a good old time printer and it was under his instruction that the present News editor learned the cases. His brother, Ed Mendenhall, was also a good printer.

Harvey left the printing business years ago and has been in the hotel business for years. He was nearly 70 years old.
