PROMINENT WOMAN DIES ON THURSDAY
Gertrud Bussanmas, Member of One of Oldest Bevington Families.

Miss Gertrud Bussanmas, 45, one of the well-known women of the oldest Bevington families, died Thursday at her home in Bevington, following many months of ill health. Interested in gardening and a charter member of the Bevington Garden club which has attained statewide recognition, Miss Bussanmas often acted as a judge at flower shows in the county and in other parts of the state. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Bussanmas are dead, Mr. Bussanmas, storekeeper and undertaker many years at Bevington, dying in February.

The Rev. Fr. Casey said requiem mass at the Church of Assumption at Churchville Saturday morning. At St. Marys church Sunday morning at the ten o'clock mass, requiem blessing was given the deceased by the pastor, the Rev. Joseph Minch. Burial was in the church cemetery. It was one of the largest funerals held at St. Marys for many years, friends and relatives crowding the church and filling the large church lawn.

Miss Bussanmas was a member of a family of thirteen and those who survive are her nephew, Thomas Downing whom she took into her home following the death of her sister, Mrs. Eva Downing in 1918; her brothers and sisters, John Bussanmas of Glenwood; Mrs. Henry Schmidt of Buck Grove; Mrs. Frank Thurman of Council Bluffs; James and Felt Bussanmas of St. Marys; George Bussanmas of Bevington; Otto Bussanmas and Mrs. John Friar of Des Moines; and Mrs. Chris Limke of Primghar.

Those from Winterset who attended the services Sunday were Mrs. P.J. Cunningham, Miss Adorline Morrissey, Mr. and Mrs. M. Breen, Misses Katherine and Florence Breen, Mrs. P.M. McNamara, Miss Mary McNamara, Miss Agnes Hartley, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hartley, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Alexander, Mrs. J. Walter Beam.
