Funeral services for Glen Goff, 74, who died Thursday at the Osage Nursing Home, were held Saturday, 10 a.m. at the Schroeder and Dunn Funeral Home, St. Ansgar. Burial was in the St. Ansgar Cemetery with Bruce Wttern, pastor of the United Methodist Church in charge.
Glen William Goff was born on September 20, 1899, near Lorimor, Iowa, in New Hope Township, Union County, Iowa. He was the son of Alfred Monroe and Lucinda Trester Goff. He received his education in a rural school near Lorimor. He farmed with his brothers: Arch and Clarence in Polk County near Polk City, Ia., before moving to the St. Ansgar area.
In September 1942 he was inducted into the United States Army at Camp Dodge, Iowa. He served as a private in the Medical Department at Camp Craft, S. D. He was honorably discharged in 1943.
Glen never married and was the last living member of his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Arch, Corbet and Clarence and one sister, Mrs. Walter (Madge) Heard who died January 1 of this year.
Surviving are a nephew and five nieces including Mrs. Robert Chancellor of St. Ansgar.
