Frederick N. Davis

Frederick N. Davis, son of Rev. and Mrs. J. F. Davis, was born at Carson, Iowa, December 21, 1898. He united with the M. E. church at De Soto, Iowa March 1915. He enlisted in Co. A, 168th infantry April 16, 1917 and served with that organization until his death.

He left the United States for foreign service November 14, 1917, and landed in France December 9, 1917. Entered into the front line trenches at Badonvilliers, province of Lorraine, France February 22, 1918. He was gassed the morning of May 27, 1918 in trenches at Vilage Naigre, near Badonvilliers and died the same day. Was buried in a French military cemetery one mile west of Baccarat.

Was returned to the United States on July 15, 1921 and was buried in Rock City cemetery, Winterset, August 2nd.
