AMBROSE BOYD DIES IN CALIFORNIA

Ambrose Boyd, former Winterset man died September 30 at National City, California, after a short illness following an operation. Mr. Boyd was born in Winterset January 14, 1873, the son of Thomas and Mary Boyd. In 1895 he went to Los Angeles.

He was a member of the Los Angeles police department 19 years, one of the most popular and efficient officers on the force. He was a Mason, belonging to the Mizpah lodge, and held a life membership in the Shrine.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lena Boyd, of Los Angeles, two brothers, Ben F. Boyd, of Los Angeles, and a half brother, C. W. Grant, of Des Moines; a nephew, Paul Boyd, of Los Angeles.
