IVAN EVANS DIES AT WEBSTER CITY

Ivan Evans, formerly of Winterset, died suddenly Sunday Aug. 6, at Webster City, of a heart attack. He was 49 years old.

Mr. Evans was born in January, 1912 at Fontanelle, a son of Lyle and Pearl Gordon Evans. His early life was spent in Winterset. He was a veteran of the World War II, serving in the North African campaign, where he was captured and spent 24 months in German prison camps.

Following the war he was employed in the Don Gordon and Guiberson cleaning shops in Winterset. For the last several years he had operated the Fashion Cleaners at Webster City.

Funeral services were to be held in Webster City this Wednesday afternoon, with military honors. Burial was to be made at Webster City also.

He is survived by his wife, and three children, Laura Marie, Lana Beth, and Charles, all of Webster City; his father, Lyle Evans of Buffalo, MO.; and four brothers, Gordon Evans of Rock Ill., Paul and Dean Evans of Des Moines, and Ralph Evans of Burlington.

Funeral services were to be held in Webster City this Wednesday afternoon, with military honors. Burial was to be made at Webster City also.
