Old Malta Resident is Pneumonia Victim

Malta, Apr. 17 - Clarence J. Brockway, aged 54, died at his home a mile and a half from Malta, of pneumonia early Thursday after an illness of a week. He is survived by his wife, a daughter Edna, who is attending normal school at Dillon, and a son, Ben, at home, and his mother, Mrs. B.W. Brockway. Funeral services will be held Saturday at the home of Mrs. George Clanton in Malta.

Mr. Brockway was born in Sullivan, Illinois, Nov. 25, 1874; removing with his parents to Winterset, Iowa, when 8 years old. He resided there until the family moved to Malta in 1900. He was married to Dora Stith on September 12, 1906, at Chinook and resided for a number of years on his homestead near Dodson. For the past several years they have lived on their farm just west of Malta. Mr. Brockway's death came as a great shock, many scarcely knowing of his illness. Two weeks ago he acted as bailiff for the annual term of court, and seemed in unusually good health.
