Georgia Bryant, 90, of Winterset, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 28, 2020.

Currently there are no services planned. Burial will be held in the Winterset Cemetery at a later date.

Georgia Lou Evans Bryant, was born on November 12, 1929 to Herschel and Beulah (Browne) Evans. She graduated from Woodward High School in 1948. She was united in marriage with Donald Max Bryant on February 20, 1949 in Woodward, Iowa. To this union, two children were born, Donald and Peggy.

Georgia and Don lived on the family farm working and raising their two children since 1952. Georgia was a wonderful baker and loved being in the kitchen. She always made sure to have some sweets available for the grandkids when they came around. Family favorites included Coca-Cola cake, sugar cookies and long johns. She loved working with her hands and was a fantastic seamstress and quilter. In 2018, following Don’s passing, Georgia decided it was time to move away from the farm. Through the years, her and Don enjoyed being snowbirds in Arizona and Texas to get away from the cold Iowa winters. She was also known to be very diligent with her money. Being able to stretch a dollar into a dollar fifty was her specialty. Above all else, Georgia loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Georgia is survived by her children, Donald (Julia) Bryant of Silver Spring, MD, daughter, Peggy (Bob) DuPre of West Des Moines; sisters, Della Stephenson and Berta Kordick; brother-in-law, Kenneth (Marilyn) Bryant of Camdenton, MO; three grandsons, Allen (Christy) Anderson, Aaron Anderson; Stephen (Ashlee) Bryant, eight great grandchildren, Alexa Anderson, Dylan Anderson, Cassandra Anderson, Britney Herr, Ethan Anderson, Brooklyn Herr, Jane Bryant and Grayson Bryant; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herschel and Beulah Evans.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for a later designation. Online condolences may be expressed at caldwellparrish.com
