Gene Crawford, 92, died Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at Valley View Village in Des Moines.

Gene was born February 8, 1928 in Osceola, Iowa to Clee and Bertha Crawford.

He was an Army veteran serving in Japan following World War II. He worked at the Ford Garage in Winterset for many years. Gene developed an interest in photography and used his creative eye to teach himself the art.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Irene, grandson, Justin; and sons, Ron and Rod.

According to Gene’s wishes, there will be no formal services held at this time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Irene.
