James Painter Dead

James Franklin Painter, of Monroe township, died suddenly Saturday at the home of his brother, I. V. Painter. Mr. Painter had suffered for years with a valvular disease of the heart, which caused his death. Mr. Painter was fifty-four years old and was well known throughout the county where he had made his home most of his life.

Funeral services were held in Lewis, Iowa, Monday at two o’clock, at the Christian church and burial was made at Lewis.

Three brothers and a sister survived, I. V. Painter, J. C. Painter, Mrs. H. C. Grulke, of Madison county; B. M. Painter of Lewis.
