Relatives in the Van Meter and Fairview community received word of the death of Lee Palmer of DeSoto on Wednesday morning. He grew to manhood in the Fairview neighborhood. Funeral services were held on Friday at 2 p.m. at Fishers Funeral Home, with burial at Fairview.

Lee Palmer, 75 Taken By Death

Lee Palmer, a longtime and widely known resident of DeSoto, passed away at his home Wednesday, August 5, at the age of 75 years. He had been in ill health for some time but continued in his trucking business until his death.

Services were held at the Fisher Funeral Home in Van Meter on Friday, August 7 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Walter Samp officiating. Robert G. Fisher was soloist accompanied by Mrs. Neale Caudron.

Casket bearers were James Cushing, Archie Dunbar, John Jensen, James Bratton, Howard Gowin and Roland Conrad. Burial was at the Fairview cemetery, south of DeSoto.

He is survived by his wife Clara; two sons, Hullus and Virgil, both of Van Meter; two grandsons, a granddaughter and many relatives and friends.
