MORTUARY

Mary Blanche Catherine, daughter of B.F. and Catherine S. Bowlsby, was born near Winterset, Madison county, Iowa, Sept. 25, 1886 and departed this life April 9, 1918, age 31 years, 6 months and 15 days. At the age of 7 years she was left motherless and at 13, went to Williams Bay, Wis., making her home with her sister, Mrs. W. H. Southwick; two years later making her home with another sister, Mrs. Bertha Weyhrauch.

On Sept. 2, 1908 she was united in marriage to Albert C. Weyhraugh, residing at Williams Bay. To this union four children were born: Alberta, age eight years; My, six years; Bernard, four years and an infant babe of six days. Beside her husband and family she leaves to mourn, her father, three sisters and 4 brothers; her mother, one sister and two brothers having preceded her in death.

Those present at the burial were Mrs. Minnie Gregory, Mrs. May Davisson and C. C. Bowlsby of Des Moines, Iowa; F. A. Bowlsby of Winterset, Iowa and Mrs. Bertha Weyhrauch of Lancaster, Wisc.

In August, 1908, she united with the East Delavan Baptist church of which she remained a zealous and consistent worker, both in Sunday school and young people’s work, and from which place the funeral was held April 11, 1918, conducted by her pastor, G. N. Goody from the text: “She hath done what she could.” St. Mark 14-8. Her friends numbered many, as was evidenced by the most beautiful floral offerings. The remains were tenderly laid to rest in East Delavan cemetery near by.
