Page 2, Column 8Emma Loise Pitts was born May 9, 1896 at Jasper county, Iowa and passed away at her home in Des Moines, Nov. 14, 1960, at the age of 64 years, 6 months and 5 days.
Emma had been in poor health for the past several years and was living a quiet retired life in her own home.
She was preceded in death by her parents Napoleon and Anne and two sisters Lucy and Fanny. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. James Goodson and two grandchildren Ray Arthur and James, Jr., of Van Meter, also a nephew Ernest of California, a niece Mrs. Bob Burton of Bethany, Missouri and Mrs. Veryl Paxton of Ottumwa, an aunt, Mrs. Lydia Countryman of Earlham, besides many cousins and a host of neighbors and friends.
Her last services were held at the Fisher Funeral Home in Van Meter with interment in the Earlham cemetery.
