Page 3, Column 4Lillian Ory, of Adel, was 82 when she died Jan. 30, 1977. She was born Sept. 27, 1894 in Polk County, Iowa to James and Jennie Williams Witham.
December 25, 1913 she was married to John Ory. They farmed near Earlham from then until moving to Adel ten years ago.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Adel and the Adel Senior Citizens Club.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Donald and James Witham and one sister, Annabel Jamison.
Surviving are her son, Richard William Ory of Des Moines, two sisters, Pearl Curtis of Bremerton, Wash., Edith Boren of Licking, Mo., one brother, Charles Witham of Adel, as well as two grandchildren, Patti Wheeler of Prole, Ia., Gene Ory of Ankeny, Ia., and six great grandchildren.
Services were Tuesday, Feb. 1, 1977, 2:00 p.m. from Chamberlain-Fisher Funeral Home of Adel. The Rev. Paul I. Nelson officiated. Interment was at the Earlham Cemetery.
