Jerrod Lorimor, 37, of Winterset, passed away unexpectedly at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines on February 6, 2020. Jerrod was born on September 28, 1982 in Winterset, Iowa to Jimmy Lorimor and Phyllis Jones.

A visitation will be held at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Winterset Chapel on Monday, February 10, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at the New Bridge Church, 1305 W Jefferson St, Winterset, Iowa. Jerrod was a 2001 graduate from Winterset High School. Following graduation, he worked many jobs at places like Rolling Hills, American Turf Beauty, Madison County Auction, and as a local Carpenter. His true passion however was farming. He loved raising and showing his registered Guernsey dairy cattle and draft horses. Jerrod was also very active in 4-H where he showed cattle and mentored younger 4-H members with their yearly projects, especially dairy cattle projects. He also loved spending time with his mother Phyllis. Together they raised cattle to show at the Iowa State Fair, the Nebraska State Fair, and the Clay County Fair. When they had a chance to take a break from their cattle, Jerrod and his mother would be found listening to and supporting Iowa State Athletics.

Jerrod was a member of the Madison County Pork Producers, Iowa Guernsey Cattle Club, American Guernsey Association, a 4-H Alumni, and the assistant dairy cattle superintendent at the Madison County Fair.

Jerrod was preceded in death by his grandfather Albert Jones and great uncle Delbert Jones.

He is survived by his mother, Phyllis Jones; father, Jimmy Lorimor; grandmother, Vera Fletcher; uncle, Willis (Tammy) Jones; aunt, Alberta (Phil) Voge; cousins, Lisa (Brent) Van Deer, Kevin Brown, Lauren (Justin) Palmer, and Shane (Casey) Jones; along with several other family members.
