A former Clark County resident, Lula McAllister, 78, died Thursday, September 10, 1998, in the Perham Memorial Hospital in Perham, Minnesota.

Mrs. McAllister was born December 9, 1919, in Winterset, Iowa, and lived in Vancouver from 1937 to 1951.

A grocery checker in California for 28 years before retiring, Mrs. McAllister moved to Battle Lake in 1989.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church in Battle Lake and enjoyed canning, watching television, country music and playing solitaire.

Survivors include her husband, Al, at home; one sister, Elsie Yazel of Iowa; and two brothers, Fred Cox of Kelso and Ross Cox of Spokane.

The casket will be open tonight and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church. A service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in St. James Roman Catholic Cemetery in Underwood, Minnesota.

Glende-Johnson-Nelson & Nilson Funeral Home in Battle Lake is in charge of arrangements.
