Carl Ackelson Rites Wednesday

Services for Carl E. Ackelson, 63, of 311 S. E. Fourteenth st., who died of cancer Sunday at Veterans Hospital here, will be at 10:30 a. m. Wednesday at Hamilton's Funeral Home. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens.

Born at Winterset, he had lived here 45 years and had been employed as a hoisting, engineer. He served in World War I and was a member of Engineers Local 234.

Survivors are his wife, Edna, of Des Moines; a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Ferguson of Des Moines; two sons, Harold E. of Santee, Cal., and Richard C. of San Francisco, Cal.; three sisters, Verdie Ackelson of South Bend, Ind., Edna Wilkinson of Kansas City, Kan., and Clarkie Cleghorn of Des Moines; five brothers, Edgar, John, and Leo of Des Moines, Vernon E. of Twin Falls, Idaho, and George of West Virginia; and five grandchildren.
