Grace Mildred Estell of R. R. 1, Winterset, died Thursday, June 12, at Winterset Care Center South at the age of 85. She had lived in Madison County for nearly 50 years.
Born on March 13, 1895, in Adair County, she was the daughter of William E. and Ellen Nelson Beaman. She was united in marriage to Percy Lee Estell on March 13, 1913, in Adair County, and he preceded her in death on April 11, 1975. Mrs. Estell moved to Madison County in 1932 and was a member of the Webster Methodist Church and Farm Bureau.
Surviving are four children, Audry J. Estell of Keokuk, Floyd L. Estell of Brentwood, Colo., Dorotha Bryan of Guthrie Center and Wanda Kraetzer of Lakewood, Mich.; a sister, Merle Crawford of Winterset; 15 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Alfred W. Estell; a grandson, James Alfred Estell; four brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 16, at Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Byron Ayers officiating. Burial was at the Dexter Cemetery.
