Ethel Frances Glasscock, 92, died of heart failure Dec. 4, 2000, at West Bridge Care and Rehabilitation (formerly Integrated Health Services) in Winterset.
Burial of the cremains will be in Concord, Neb., at a later date.
Ethel Glasscock was born Oct. 21, 1908, to John Calvin and Esther Olivia (Smith) Hogle of Concord, Neb. A graduate of Concord High School, she attended Wayne State University for two years, graduating from Drake University in Des Moines. Ethel taught school for 28 years, retiring in 1971. She married Buford Mastin Glasscock on Oct. 25, 1930, in Hartington, Neb. She and her husband had resided in Des Moines and also, for 25 years, in Astor, Fla. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, a grandson and a brother.
She is survived by a son, Bob Glasscock (wife Phyllis) of Truro; a sister, Vera Schutte of Laurel, Neb.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
