News of Interest From St. Charles

Mrs. Ethyl German Saffle passed away at her home in Malvern on Tuesday evening, Oct. 25. For several years her home had been in St. Charles and only a few months ago she and her daughter left their home here and moved to Malvern that they might be with her husband who holds a government position in the C.C.C. camp there. She had long been a victim of diabetes and had made a brave fight against the disease but all medical skill failed and she entered into rest at the age of 39 years.

She leaves her husband and one daughter, Carol, of Malvern, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester German, two brothers, Clarence and Harold and one sister, Mabel all of Winterset, and a host of friends.

Rev. Smith conducted funeral services Thursday afternoon at the Methodist church and burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
