Carl Robert Loomis, 81, Matherville, former vice president and production manager of Servus Rubber Co., Rock Island, died Sunday at Mercer County Hospital, Aledo.
Services are tentatively set for 2 p.m. Thursday at Jinks Funeral Home, Viola. Burial is in Farlow Grove Cemetery, Matherville.
Visitation is Wednesday afternoon and evening, with a Masonic service conducted at 8 p.m.
Mr. Loomis was born April 10, 1907, in Barney, Iowa. He married Lillian Myrtle Moore Dec. 24, 1927, in Madrid, Iowa.
He worked 47 years at Servus Rubber Co., Rock Island, retiring in 1974 as vice president and production manager.
He was a past member of the Matherville town council and past president of the Matherville school board. He directed and helped organize the Boston Bay Conservation Club; was a member of Preemption Masonic Lodge, Kaabe Shrine; and Fraternal Order of Eagles, Matherville. He enjoyed fishing and playing golf.
Survivors include the widow; a son, William, Cupertino, Calif.; four grandchildren; a sister, Lenora Thurman, Winterset, Iowa; and brothers, Freal Loomis, Unionville, Mo., and Homer Loomis, Lamar, Iowa.
