Homer Loomis, 86, of Lorimor died of anemia Sunday at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Collins Funeral Home, with burial at Lorimor Cemetery.

Mr. Loomis was born in Barney and lived in Lorimor 24 years. He was a farmer and member of the Farm Bureau.

Among survivors are his wife, Lucile; two sons, Charles of Junction City, Ohio, and Dean of Winterset; and seven grandchildren.

Friends may call after noon today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Homer Loomis, Lorimor

Homer Loomis, 86, of Lorimor, died Jan. 7, 1996 at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services will be held Thurs., Jan. 11, 1996, at 10:30 a.m. at the Lorimor Methodist Church. The Rev. Edwin Van Holland will officiate. Burial will be in the Lorimor Cemetery. Visitation is today (Wed., Jan. 10) from 12 - 8 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home. The family will be present from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Loomis was born May 14, 1909, to Lewis and Bessie (Simpson) Loomis in Barney. He married Wilma McNichols on Dec. 24. 1938, in Greenfield. He was a farmer and a member of the Lorimor Methodist Church and the Farm Bureau.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; and one sister.

Surviving relatives include his wife; two sons, Charles and wife, Nancy of Junction City, Ohio and Dean and wife, Janet of Winteret, a daughter, Lois Gray and husband, Randy of Bondurant; and seven grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
