Florence Myrtle Brooker was born February 19, 1886 near Winterset, Madison county, Iowa and departed this life March 21 at the King’s Daughters hospital at Perry, Iowa.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, J. E. Brooker, one daughter, Lenore and two sons, Corless and Forest, of Des Moines, Iowa. Three brothers, Charles F. Earp, of Waukee, Otis Earp, of Des Moines and Joseph J. Earp, of Booneville, Iowa. Four sisters, Mrs. Lucy Day of Onaga, Kansas, Mrs. Anna Clearwater, of Van Meter, Iowa, Mrs. Effie Poffinbarger, of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Mrs. Fannie Johnston, of Earlham, Iowa. Her father, mother, two sisters and one brother having preceded her to the great beyond.

She was converted and united with the M.E. church when sixteen years of age. She had been in poor health for the last three or four years and was confined to her bed the last three weeks. Her two sisters were privileged to be with her continually the last few days, when the end came.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. W. L. Cannom and interment was made in Van Meter cemetery.
