Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the McGinnis Funeral Home, Davenport, for Mrs. Lyle E. Shutt, 62, of 1427 S. Michigan Ave. Davenport. She died Thursday at 7 p.m. in Mercy Hospital after an illness of three weeks. The Rev. Dr. Frederick J. Ackman will officiate. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal.
The former Josephine May Porter was born July 25, 1895, in Truro, Iowa. She had lived in Davenport since 1940. She was married to Mr. Shutt Sept. 2, 1921, in Guthrie Center. Mrs. Shutt had been a clerk in the Petersen-Harned-Von Maur Department store for 10 years. She was a member of St. John’s Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Fletcher of Davenport, and Dick of Rock Island; her father, Fletcher Porter of Truro; a sister, Miss Lucie Porter of Sioux City, and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, a daughter, a sister and a brother.
