Wm. Roberts, of Adel, was calling on relatives and old acquaintances here Monday, and gives the information that Jas. F. Alexander died Dec. 30th at Bell, Calif., aged about 81. Mr. Alexander lived here at the time of the civil war, and enlisted here with Co. A of the 39th Iowa. Mrs. Alexander, who still lives, was a daughter of the late Isaac Ruby, one of the early settlers of this county.
