July 23, 1937 - August 31, 2018

Doris J. Givan, age 81, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away on August 31, 2018 at Redwood of Raymore.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Winterset Community Church 113 South 2nd Street, Winterset, Iowa 50273.

A Memorial Contribution in lieu of flowers may be given to Serenity Care Hospice (1626 E Elm St, Harrisonville, MO 64701).

Doris was born on July 23, 1937 in Wick, Iowa. She was the daughter of James Stroud and Lois Lee. She left Iowa to live in Normal, IL. She later moved to Chenoa, IL where she graduated high school. After high school, she moved to Iowa to live with her Grandma Lee. She learned bookkeeping and worked for an insurance company in Des Moines. In Des Moines she met and married Ron Bichel. Doris was blessed with two sons, Alan and Jeff, and one daughter, Ronda. She remarried Everett Louis Givan has been widowed for 23 years.

Doris was a dedicated mother, grandmother and friend. She loved spending time with her family and close friends. From cooking meals for them to hosting game nights, she would always find a way to show that she cared deeply for the people in her life. She was a strong and independent women who liked to take care of others and would never ask for anything in return.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents, James and Lois Stroud; husbands Ronald Bichel and Everett Louis Givan; and daughter-in-law Denise Bichel.

She is survived by her two sons, Alan Bichel (Roseann) and Jeff Bichel; daughter, Ronda Callison; brother James Stroud (Bernice), sister Thelma Crabtree (William); seven grandchildren, Beriet Moffitt (Matthew), Heath Bichel, Curtis Bichel (Renee), Emily Bichel (Eric Tamboli), Jennifer DeBuchel (Shane), Blaine Callison (Amber), and Jenna Roth (Clayton); and six great grandchildren, Joshua, Addison, Havilah, Jaycie, Kaison, and Oliver.
