Ardyce Rush, Urbandale, Iowa

Ardyce Lavon Rush, 89 of Urbandale Iowa passed away Sept 19,2018 at her home at Deerfield Retirement Community.

A celebration of life service will be held October 5th at 1:00 pm preceded by a luncheon starting at noon. The service will be at First Presbyterian Church in Spirit Lake, Iowa.

Ardyce was born July 7, 1929 to Sam and Addie Mills in Spencer, Iowa. Ardyce graduated from Spencer High School in 1947 and was married to Donald Rush of Winterset, IA on October 2, 1949. They were blessed with 3 children and were married for 60 years prior to Donald's death in 2009.

Ardyce retired from General Growth after more than 20 years of service. After retirement Ardyce and Donald moved to a house on Spirit Lake and enjoyed great times with friends and family for 12 years before moving to a townhome in Arnolds Park. Don and Ardyce also enjoyed winters at a their home in Gold Canyon, AZ during retirement. Ardyce and her husband enjoyed traveling and took several trips overseas, cruised through the Panama Canal and to Alaska. For the past 9 years Ardyce has lived at Deerfield Retirement Community in Urbandale, Iowa. Ardyce and Donald were members of First Presbyterian Church in Spirit Lake.

Ardyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, sisters Jean and Marilyn and her brother Gale.

Survivors include daughter, Barbara Bonestroo of Orlando, FL; son, Richard (Sue) Rush of Ankeny and daughter Terri (Steve) Boers of Ankeny; brother Donald Mills of Minneapolis MN; grandchildren, Jennifer (Brent) Heitzner of Atlanta GA, Brenda (Matt) Dieveney of White Bear Lake, MN, Michael (Kari) Bonestroo of Orlando FL, and Christopher (Lauren) Rush of Minneapolis, MN and great grandchildren Kylie Bonestroo, Taylor, Hayden and Camden Dieveney.

A special thank you to those who took such good care of her during her stay at Deerfield Retirement Community. Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church 3501 Hill Ave. Spirit Lake, IA 51360.
