LeRoy M. King, 69, 311 North Vine street, retired farmer and resident of Creston since 1937, died at 10:45 this morning at the Greater Community hospital following a two weeks’ illness. He had lived nearly all of his life around Orient, Afton and Creston, moving to Union county 36 years ago.
Mr. King was born in Madison county, on Sept. 9, 1871 the son of William M. and Mary E. King. He was married on Sept. 16, 1895 in Greenfield to Hattie Stickels. He was a member of the Afton Presbyterian church, Masonic, I. O. O. F. and Eastern Star lodges.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Clell of north of Afton; a daughter, Irene Burchett of Pacific Junction; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Hannon of Orient and Mrs. Ella Vest of Lorimor; a brother, W. W. King of Bonestell, S. Dak., and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the McGregor Bros. and Coens chapel at 2 p. m. Monday in charge of the Rev. John Neuenschwander. Burial will be in the Greenlawn cemetery at Afton.

Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. today at the McGregor Bros. and Coens chapel for LeRoy M. King, 69, retired farmer who died Saturday in charge of the Rev. John Neuenschwander. Pallbearers were Lester Brown, S. R. Brown, Carl Black, Frank Carter, John Moffitt and Roy Solomon and burial was in the Greenlawn cemetery at Afton.
