LARRY D. BUCKINGHAM JR.

WINTERSET, IA. —Larry Dwayne Buckingham Jr., 34, of Winterset died Saturday near Altoona of injuries suffered in a train collision. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Slade and Duerr Funeral Home in Leon, and burial will be in Decatur Cemetery at Decatur.

Mr. Buckingham was born in Council Bluffs and lived there and at West Des Moines and Decatur before moving to Winterset. He had worked for the Rock Island Railroad for eight years and was an engineer for Iowa Interstate Railroad the past two years. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Surviving are his wife, LaVoy Kay; two sons, Scott Adam and Shawn William, both at home; his mother, Avis Marie Buckingham, his father, Larry Dwayne Sr., and his grandmother Hazel Marie Buckingham, all of Council Bluffs; and three brothers, Robert of Decatur and Kip and George, both of Council Bluffs.

Friends may call until service time at the funeral home.
