FRED A. THORNBURG

Services for Fred A. Thornburg, 76, of 608 Twenty-third St., who died of a heart attack Sunday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Highland Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery.

Mr. Thornburg was born in Winterset and lived in Des Moines 43 years. In 1971, he retired as a tire recapper for Montgomery Ward & Co.

Survivors include two sons, Eugene of Jesup and Lawrence of California; two daughters, Shirley Allert of Des Moines and Mary Shagena of Lake Orion, Mich.; two sisters, Verdi Craft and Hazel Thornburg, both of Des Moines; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
