Toot Weaver Rites Tuesday

Toot Vinton Weaver, 89, of Osceola, died Sunday, April 27 at the Clarke County Public Hospital. Services were held Tuesday, April 30 at the Assembly of God Church in Osceola with the Pastor Jim Pollard officiating at the 11 a.m. rites. Interment was in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Osceola.

Toot Vinton Weaver was born June 19, 1895 in Patterson, Iowa to Henry K. Weaver and Florence Medora White Weaver. He attended schools in Patterson and married his first wife, Jessie Matthew on February 20, 1922 and Louisa May Johnson on June 24, 1967. Six children were born to his first marriage. He was a construction worker and farmer most of his life. He was a veteran of WWI and a member of the American Legion-Herndon-Oehlert Post #157, Woodburn. He was also a member of the four Square Gospel Church.

Surviving relatives include: his wife, Louisa May Weaver of Osceola, son Ollie Weaver and Gladys of Des Moines; son, Kenneth Weaver and Edna of New Virginia; daughter, Opal Weaver of Osceola; daughter, Pearl Halls and Herbert of Des Moines; son, William Weaver and Bonnie of Des Moines; 11 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one brother, Ollie Weaver of Patterson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Jessie in 1964; daughter, Florence Weaver; step-son, Robert Matthew; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; and one sister, Alice Kelly.

Toot Vinton Weaver

Toot Vinton Weaver, son of Henry K. and Florence Medora White Weaver was born at Patterson, Iowa on June 19, 1895 and passed away at the Clarke County Hospital in Osceola, Iowa on April 27, 1985 at the age of 89 years, 10 months and eight days.

Toot received his education in the Patterson schools. During his entire lifetime he worked with and played violins. He dedicated his life to the Lord early at Patterson then reaffirmed that faith in 1966 when he and his wife, Louisa joined the 4-Square Church in Osceola.

On February 20, 1922 he was married to Jessie Matthew and six children were born to this union. On June 24, 1967 he was married to Louisa May Johnson in Osceola. Toot lived most of his life around Patterson where he farmed. He later moved to Osceola where he worked at construction work.

Toot was a veteran of WWI, Herndon-Oehlert Post $157 of American Legion at Woodburn and V. F. W. at Osceola.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Jessie in 1964; daughter, Florence Weaver; step-son, Robert Matthew; two grandchildren; one great grandchild and one sister, Alice Kelly.

He leaves to mourn his passing: wife, Louisa May of Osceola; son, Ollie Weaver and wife, Gladys of Des Moines; son, Kenneth Weaver and wife, Edna of New Virginia; daughter, Opal Weaver of Osceola; daughter Pearl Halls and husband, Herbert of Des Moines; son, William Weaver and wife, Bonnie of Des Moines; 11 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one brother, Ollie Weaver of Patterson, as well as other relatives and friends.

Services were held Tuesday, April 30 at 11 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church with Pastor Jim Pollard officiating. Interment was at Maple Hill Cemetery, Osceola.
