AFTON—Mrs. Nellie Welty, 63, died at her home in Afton Friday. She had lived in Afton since 1941 and before that had lived in Madison county and in the Ellston and Lorimor communities.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Monday at the Methodist church in Afton. Rev. Lyle Dunham will officiate. Burial will be in Green Lawn cemetery at Afton. Her body is at the William Coen funeral home in Afton.
She was born in Madison county, Dec. 16, 1894.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Florence Owens, and two grandchildren, of Afton; three sisters, Mrs. Alma Tratchel of Newton, Mrs. Ross Henderson of Igloo. S. D., and Mrs. Ed Henning of Moline, Ill.; and two brothers, Lee Porter of Adel and Edison Porter of Colfax. He husband, Vern Welty, preceded her in death in 1948.
She was a member of the Lorimor Christian church.
