Denver Emerson, 65, of 2945 N. E. Fifty-first Court, died Saturday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital following a long illness
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Emerson was born in Lorimor and had lived in Ridgeway, Mo., before moving to Des Moines six months ago. He was a retired farmer.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Vada Butts of Burlington and Mrs. Nola Ball of Des Moines; a son, Lewis Utterback of Creston; his mother, Mrs. Flossie Fight of Indianola; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Cooper of Lacona, Mrs. Dulcie Dehner of Des Moines and Mrs. Mary Ann Allsup of Wichita Falls, Tex.; a brother, Carl of Springdale, Ark.; and seven grandchildren.
________________________Transcriber's note: The deceased has an Iowa Delayed Certificate of Birth showing birth in Madison County and from which his middle name was taken. Sister Ruth Cooper's gravestone says "Couper".
