LORIMOR — Mrs. Minnie Shigley, 73, died suddenly about 1:30 a.m. today at her home in Des Moines. She had been spending winters in an apartment in Des Moines for several years but returned to her home in Lorimor during the summer months.
Mrs. Shigley was a clerk at the Lorimor post office for many years and served as acting postmaster several times. She had retired a few years ago.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Arloene Foresman of Omaha, Nebr.; two grand- children; two brothers, Harvey Handley of Lorimor and Earl Handley of New Virginia; and a sister, Mrs. Lulu Nelson of Lorimor. Her husband preceded her in death.
Her body is at the Watts-Soll funeral home at Lorimor. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

LORIMOR — Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Shigley, 73, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Methodist church at Lorimor. Rev. John Hall, the pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Lorimor cemetery. Her body is at the Watts-Soll funeral home at Lorimor.
Mrs. Shigley died suddenly at the apartment in Des Moines where she had been spending winters for the last few years. She returned to Lorimor each summer.
She had been a clerk in the post office in Lorimor for many years until retiring a few years ago and had served several times as acting postmaster.
She was born in Madison county, near Macksburg, April 16, 1892, the daughter of Ferris and Emma Handley Pierce. She was educated in the Madison county schools and attended Highland Park college at Des Moines. She was married June 25, 1913, at Thayer to Roy Shigley, who preceded her in death. She had lived in Lorimor for 43 years.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Arolene Foresman of Omaha, Nebr; two grandchildren, two brothers and a sister.
