Funeral and burial services were held for Laurel R. Freeburn, 84, of Waverly, formerly from Des Moines. Funeral services were held May 8 at the College Avenue Christian Church in Des Moines with burial in Resthaven Cemetery, Des Moines.

Mrs. Freeburn was born in Madison County and lived in Des Moines most of her life, moving to Waverly in 1994. She retired as a clerical worker with the Iowa Department of Education.

Survivors include her husband, Earl; two daughters, Susan Abbas of Readlyn and Sally Fisher of Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, Helen Jubb of Portland, Ore., and Bonnie Hulse of Van Meter; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
