RONALD DEAN ROGERS

Ronald Dean Rogers of rural Earlham died Saturday, December 1, 2007 of leukemia.

Ron was born July 14, 1929 in Linden, Iowa the son of Kenneth Lyle and Addie Rogers Brown.

Ron attended Grade School in Linden, spent his senior year at Des Moines Tech and graduated from Redfield High School.

Ron served in the US Army Signal Corp during the Korean Conflict.

He worked for Cargill, Inc. in Redfield, Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and Wichita, KS. until 1973. He retired form Straight Engineering of Adel, IA in 1987.

Ron enjoyed computers, designing projects, working with steel and spending time on his deck with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Earlham, IA; sons Rex Rogers of Redfield, IA; Rich Rogers and wife, Michele of Linden, IA; grandchildren, David, Shannon, Chris and Dalee; and his brother, Norman Rogers of Bonaparte, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ronnie and twin granddaughters, Laura and Sarah.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2007 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Conference Center in Redfield, Iowa. Private burial of cremains will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of Central Iowa or Dallas County Ambulance Service.

Ron will be greatly missed by all who knew him and as it was written in his high school annual, “A rare mechanical genius, he knows what makes the wheels go around.”
