Laura Habenicht Taken by Death; Funeral Friday

Cedar Falls—Mrs. Laura Habenicht, 84, died at Black Hawk county home Tuesday at 7 p.m. after a lingering illness of several years. She entered the home in November 1940.

As Laura Young, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Young, she was born July 23, 1860, in Madison county, Iowa. She was married in 1885 to C. L. Habenicht, and they came to Black Hawk county in 1902.

After Mr. Habenicht’s death I July 1917, she moved from their farm near Cedar Falls to a home at 321 East 12th street.

Two children survive, Guy W., Grundy Center, and Ross, living on the farm near Cedar Falls, also one brother, Elsworth Young, Truro, Ia., and one sister, Frances Musselman, Winterset; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Mrs. Habenicht was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church in Waterloo.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Brown funeral home, Rev. Jerry D. Smith of Des Moines officiating. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery, north of Cedar Falls.
