Page 1, Column 6Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Vaudt, 91, were held Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Whittemore. Rev. Cleo Kautsch officiated and burial was in St. Paul’s cemetery with McCullough’s of Whittemore in charge.
Pallbearers were Herman Vaudt, Victor Dau, Roland Bernau, Dean Wehrspan, Wayne Gade and Wilbur Roeber.
Mrs. Vaudt died March 6 at St. Ann hospital in Algona where she had been a patient for some time.
Mrs. Vaudt was born Clara Wilhelmina Kneuper, the daughter of Reinhold and Anna Bernau Kneuper on February 11, 1879. On April 14, 1901, she was married to August Vaudt at Van Meter, Iowa. They moved from Van Meter to Whittemore in 1913.
Survivors include three sons: Walter of Fenton; August H. of Whittemore, and Rev. Erwin Vaudt of Mahnomen, Minnesota; four daughters: Mrs. Anna Behnke and Mrs. Louis (Bertha) Greinert of Whittemore, Mrs. Ed (Clara) Butler and Mrs. Fred (Ruth) Rhoda, both of Elmore, Minnesota. There are 29 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, Irene, and three brothers.
