Page 5, Column 3Thos. Sturgeon, one of the pioneer settlers of this county, died at his home in Storm Lake last Friday, after illness caused by taking a heavy cold.
Mr. Sturgeon took up a homestead in Maple Valley township early in the seventies along with supervisor Crowell; of late years he has rented his farm and lived here.
He leaves a wife and two daughters, the latter both married; one to Mr. S. B. Crowell, of the Valley, and the other married to his son, who lives a Devils Lake, Dakota. The funeral occurred Sunday morning.
