Funeral services were held Monday morning, May 23, at Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson for Charles Edward Reimann, 69, longtime Jefferson resident.

The Rev. R. Carrol Johnson, minister of Central Christian Church in Jefferson, officiated. Organist was Mrs. David Carlstrom.

Honorary casket bearers were Vern Burchfield, Dean Schuttler, Orville Stream, Clarence Baker and Ronald Wolf. Casket bearers were Dr. George Canady, Robert J. Barrett, Lloyd Baller, Delbert Zmolek, Marvin Shriver and James Parr. Interment was in Jefferson Cemetery.

Charles Edward Reimann, son of John and Bessie Landers Reimann, was born June 26, 1907, at Patterson and passed away May 19 at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson.

Charles moved to Jefferson at an early age where he attended school and graduated from Jefferson High School. On Aug. 12, 1929, he was married to Helen Obanion at the Methodist Parsonage in Adel. They made their home in Jefferson where Charles worked as a mechanic at Central Motors for many years.

After failing health, Charles went into the bicycle repair business, operating the business at his home.

Charles was a lifetime member of Central Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters in infancy; a brother, Paul; and a sister, Bernice.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; three nieces, Mrs. Dale Henry of Memphis, TN, Mrs. Jim Bickel of San Mateo, CA and Mrs. Shirley Gallager of Walnut Creek, CA; and one nephew, Bill Chauncey of Sioux City.
