Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 9, for Jennie C. Husted, 86, who died at the Clarke County Public Hospital on Sunday, November 7. The Rev. John Dale of Adel will conduct the 2:30 p.m. funeral from the Webster-Kale Funeral Home.
Jennie C. Husted was born in Madison County, Iowa, on September 9, 1885, daughter of John William Litton and Martha Jane Simmons Litton. She attended schools in Madison County and was married to Arlando Darwin Husted in Winterset on January 9, 1902. Five children were born to this union.
She lived most of her life in Clarke County and was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America and was affiliated with the Christian Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Mildred Miller and husband, Lloyd of Osceola; daughter, Susie Hochstein and husband, Vern, of Osceola; son, Art Husted and wife, Lois of Ralston, Nebraska; daughter, Thelma Muller and husband James of San Gabriel, California; ten grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Darwin in 1923; four sisters; three brothers and one son, Robert, in infancy.
Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
