Joint funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 26, for Chester Fouche, 64, and for his mother, Daisie Fouche, 89, from the Webster-Kale Funeral Home in Osceola. Chester died at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines on Friday, May 21, and his mother, at the Clarke County Public Hospital on Saturday, May 22.
The Rev. John Dale will conduct the 2 p.m. services from the Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Daisie Rosetta Fouche was born October 22, 1881, in Madison County, Iowa, daughter of David A. White and Alice E. Scott White. She attended schools in Beaver, Nebraska, and on August 30, 1905, was married to George Fouche in Washington Township, Iowa. Seven children were born to this union. She was a homemaker and spent her entire life in Clarke county.
Survivors include a son, Arthur Fouche and wife of Osceola; daughter, Mrs. Leola Mildred Schaffer and husband, of Yuma, Arizona; daughter, Mrs. Alice Baldwin and husband of Mesa, Arizona; daughter, Helen Sheets of Creston; son, Leland Fouche and wife of San Diego, California; one daughter-in-law, Hazel Fouche of Osceola; 14 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; two brothers, Vern White of San Point, Idaho and Leland White of Houston, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Darlene; one son, Chester; one grandson, Robert Schaffer and one brother, Burma White.
Chester Lavern Fouche was born February 2, 1907, in Osceola, Iowa, son of George Fouche and Daisie White Fouche. He received his education in schools in Clarke County and on July 26, 1935, was married to Hazel Palmer in Bethany, Missouri. Four children were born to this union.
He farmed in this area and also was manager of the Garner Hotel and Coffee Shop during his lifetime. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel of Osceola; son, Wesley Fouche and wife, Dixie of Fort Dodge; son, Wendall and wife Marlene of Des Moines; daughter, Barbara Hadley and husband, James of Kansas City, Missouri; daughter, Beverly Raymond and husband, James of Marshalltown; 16 grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Leo Schaffer of Yuma, Arizona; Mrs. Pierce Baldwin of Phoenix, Arizona; Helen Sheets of Creston; two brothers, Leland Fouche of San Diego, California and Arthur Fouche of Osceola.
Preceded him in death were his parents and one sister, Darlene Wakefield.
