Walter P. Creger, son of Joseph and Elizabeth Creger, was born July 16, 1880, near Truro, Iowa, and passed away May 21, 1964 in Kansas City.
He was converted at the age of 13 and united with the Christian Church at Truro, transferring his membership to the Monroe Baptist Church in 1911 where he was a faithful member and devoted worker as long as he remained in Monroe.
In 1906 he was married to Nellie L. Graves of Mexico, N.Y. To this union were born two children, Mrs. George (Helen) Brightwell of Kansas City, Kan., and Ralph, of Little Rock, Ark.
Mr. Creger worked as telegrapher and station agent for the Rock Island railroad at Otley and Monroe. He retired in 1945. In 1960 the Cregers moved to Kansas City, Kan., to be near their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. George Brightwell.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie; one brother, Ora of Truro; one daughter, Helen of Kansas City, Kan.; one son, Ralph, of Little Rock, Ark.; two grandsons, Carl and Jerry Creger; and other relatives and friends.
