Page 6, Column 1Orval E. Farr, 77, of Murray died Friday, December 13 at the Clarke County Hospital in Osceola. He was a farmer and a lifelong resident of Murray.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, December 15 at the Watts-Lindsay Funeral Home at Murray. Rev. Lynn Ryon officiated and burial was in the Murray cemetery.
Mr. Farr was born September 20, 1897 in Madison county to Charles and Rosa Guthrie Farr. On August 15, 1923, he was married to Hazel Cone at Shenandoah. She preceded him in death on December 7, 1970.
He is survived by one son, Richard Farr of Winterset; three daughters, Mrs. John (June) Twohig of Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin, Mrs. Robert (Jeanne) Davenport of Des Moines, and Mrs. Jim (Janice) Halls of Weldon; 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also surviving are two brothers, Bill Farr of Murray, and Earl Farr of London Mills, Illinois; and two sisters, Mrs. Eva Sheets of Afton, and Mrs. Vivian Persels of Creston. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Mr. Farr was a member of the Methodist church.
