Everett Iiams, 72, died at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines on Tuesday, March 11. Funeral services are pending the arrival of his son, William, who is serving in Vietnam.

Everett Iiams was born in Madison county, Iowa, on April 27, 1896, son of Arthur Iiams and Florence Kirk Iiams. He received his education in Madison county schools. He married Alma Thurman in 1921 and one son was born to this union. He farmed in Clarke and Madison counties for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the Christian church.

Survivors include one son, William; daughter-in-law and six grandchildren of Des Moines; three brothers, Boyd and Dale Iiams of Murray and Nathan of Oregon; and two sisters, Velma Gibbons of Texas and Thelma Thurman of Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma, in May of 1967; two sisters and one brother.
