Page 3, Column 6Funeral services for Chas. Frey, well known Osceola man who died suddenly Sunday evening of a heart attack, were held from the Webster Funeral home at 2:30 o’clock Wednesday afternoon. Rev. F. C. McCallon officiated. Interment was made in Fields cemetery in Washington township.
Charley, son of Cornelius and Anna Frey, was born May 6, 1892 in Jefferson county, Iowa. When ten years old he moved with his parents to Madison township in Clarke county and this and Madison counties have been his home ever since. He became a member of the church when he was 19 years old.
He was married in 1911 to Frances Conn of Hopeville. One son, Roy, of Des Moines, was born to this union.
Charles was a farmer in this and Madison county until about 12 years ago when he moved to Osceola where he was manager of the Hi-Way Hotel for a number of years.
Surviving is the son, Roy; mother, Mrs. Anna Frey; sister, Vesta Conner, and two brothers, Ray of near Osceola and Harry of Idaho; one grandson, Michael Frey and three nieces and three nephews.
