Page 1, Columns 2 & 3Ollie Fairfax, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Fairfax, was born in Madison county, Iowa, February 9, 1869, and died at Des Moines, Iowa, November 29, 1918, aged 49 years, 9 months and 20 days, following an attack of influenza and pneumonia.
She with her parents moved to Osceola in her young womanhood. On August 27, 1899, she was united in marriage to Frank Davis of this county. They resided here most of the time until twelve years ago when they moved to South Dakota. They returned to Des Moines last September where they have since resided.
Mrs. Davis has been a member of the Christian church since girlhood.
She leaves to mourn her death a loving husband, two sons, Paul age 17 and Charley age 15, and one daughter, Florence age 12; two sisters, Mrs. Drue Stevens of this city and a twin sister, Mrs. Flora Martin of Macksburg, Iowa; two brothers, Homer Fairfax of Alexandria, South Dakota, and John Fairfax of Stettler, Alberta, Canada, besides other relatives and a host of friends.
The body was brought to Osceola Monday afternoon accompanied by the bereaved husband and children, and her brother, Homer, and taken to the Webster & Son undertaking parlors where the funeral services were held at 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon conducted by Rev. James A. Burns, pastor of the Christian church, after which the body was laid to rest in Maple Hill cemetery.
