Page 4, Column 2Margaret L. Guthrie, fourth child of Wm. J. and Margaret Guthrie was born in Madison county, Iowa, Mar. 28, 1853, and died at her home in Murray, Feb. 5, 1926; aged 72 years, 10 months and 5 days.
She grew to womanhood in Madison co., and was married to W. H. Roberts at Winterset, Sept. 24, 1873. In the year 1878, she with her husband moved to the farm south of Murray where they lived till 1911, when they moved into town where she has since resided.
She was a Charter member of the Rebecca Lodge and was one of the first delegates to be sent to a convention. Soon after coming to Murray she united with the Church of Christ and for many years was a faithful worker in the church till failing health kept her from taking active part and confined her to her home, but she was always interested in the church and ready to do what she could to help those about.
She leaves to mourn her loss a devoted husband and one daughter, Flossie T. Wolfe, of Murray, and four grandchildren, Leona, Wayne, Leonard and Irene Wolfe; one brother, T. A. Guthrie, of Creston, and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss a devoted wife, a loving mother and kind neighbor.
