Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 3 at 2 p.m. for Fred Ryerson who passed away September 1 at the Clarinda State Hospital where he had been ill for the past two months with a heart ailment.

Fred Ryerson, eldest son of Rinard and Julia Ryerson, was born in Webster county, Iowa, May 12, 1878. His early life was spent in and near Ft. Dodge but had lived in Madison county for the past eighteen years.

In 1902 he was united in marriage to Caroline Schwartz of Ft. Dodge, Iowa. They were the parents of a son, Louis, whose present address is not known by relatives.

He was honest, industrious and a friend to all who knew him. He leaves two brothers, Edward Ryerson of Truro, Iowa and G. M. Ryerson of LeBannon, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Hannah Kamber of San Francisco, Calif. and Mrs. Corinne Culbertson of Sausalito, Calif.; also five nieces and five nephews, and a number of other relatives and friends.

Services were held at the Kale Funeral Home in Truro, the Rev. J. A. Worrell of the Methodist church officiating. Interment was made in the Field cemetery southwest of town.
